Product Information: ..
The Thomson tube features an electron gun housed in an evacuated glass bulb with a focusing electrode system, a directly heated tungsten filament, and a cylindrical anode. The electron beam can be deflected electrostatically by an integrated pair of deflection plates that form a parallel-plate capacitor, or magnetically with Helmholtz coils, type S (item no.: 1000611). A flat mica screen with a 1 cm grid is mounted between the deflection plates and rotated by 10° relative to the beam axis, allowing the path of the electron beam to be clearly observed.
