An enema is the administration of a substance in liquid form into the rectum. The procedure is performed by a nurse to either aid bowel evacuation or to administer medicines. In order to avoid injury to the patients, the procedure is trained on medical simulators. The trainee acquires the necessary skills and competences for enema administration through direct feedback, correction, and repeated training on the simulator.
