The Precision Sine Drive consists of an oscillator and a stepping motor turning a cam and follower, which attaches to the end of an Air Track. The drive rod moves a spring connected to the first glider in the system. The driver sits on the Air Track and stays in place with a Velcro band so you can easily place it anywhere along the track. The frequency set with a front panel knob shows on a 4 digit LED display with a resolution of 0.001 Hz. This fine resolution is necessary because the resonant frequencies of the gliders on the track are so sharp. For gliders of equal mass, there is one resonant frequency for each glider in the string.
